Ben Dennison, Director

Cool Fact: My daughter (Sarah) and I have the same birthday

Favorite Kentucky Thing: Keeneland (Track Kitchen, more specifically)

Why I'm a Part of Kerrington's Heart: Kerrington's Heart helped us feel supported when our son was diagnosed with a CHD at birth. Since we didn't know about his CHD before he was born, everything felt overwhelming and stressful, and our Child Life Specialist lead us to Kerrington's Heart - we immediately felt like we had a whole crew of parents and families in our corner who were ready with answers, prayers, and a feeling of community. We're a part of Kerrington's Heart not only for the support they have shown us, but so that we can pay it forward and show other Kentucky families that we are here and fighting for them too.

Favorite Kentucky Thing (Place, food, sport, etc.): Hiking at Red River Gorge and Cumberland Falls

Why I’m a part of Kerrington’s Heart: Kerrington’s Heart supported my family and I through our most vulnerable, fearful time following my daughters diagnosis of CHD without even personally knowing us. Since then, the organization has continued to be a source of comfort and relief for us and has made a huge effort to make my daughter’s Heart journey a little bit easier. Being able to do the same for other families effected by CHD is my mission as part of this organization because out of the many things KHI has taught me, one of the most important is that you are never alone through this journey and there is always a team of warriors supporting you every step of the way.
